The Northern Ireland dealer has struck deals with the Welsh Parliament and New Forest District Council

Belfast-based telco provider Barclay Communications has secured two major UK government contracts jointly worth more than £750,000.

The deals, with the Welsh Parliament and New Forest District Council, will give the firm over 1,000 more comms connections.

The two-year deal with the Welsh Parliament is worth £250,000 and adds hundreds of new connections, with plans supported by O2, Vodafone and EE.

Meanwhile, the £521,000 contract with New Forest District Council runs for three years and covers more than 750 connections, with plans for additional growth and a view to a further two-year deal afterwards.

The deal will see the telco refresh the organisation’s entire communications hardware, including the introduction of a bespoke package to ensure sensitive data is carefully kept secure.

These contract wins come just months after Barclay Group announced it was investing £2 million in its landline division.

Growing portfolio

“We are delighted to add two more high-profile government contracts to our client portfolio,” said Barclay Comms MD Britt Megahey.

“We have consistently invested in our business to ensure our customers are provided with bespoke and innovative communication solutions, and as a result it has allowed us to secure many tender wins for high- profile clients.”
