Assurant has teamed up with Dutch operator Odido have launched a device insurance programme offering Odido customers access to AppleCare Services.
Odido will be the only provider in the Netherlands to offer iPhone users direct access to Apple’s repair network and support channels. Certified repairs will be completed at Apple Stores or authorised Apple service providers using original parts, and the network’s customers can contact Apple Support directly.
Odido has around eight million mobile, fibre and TV customers. It was created in 2023 from the merger of T-Mobile Netherlands and Tele2, and is jointly owned by Apax Partners and Warburg Pincus.
The insurance covers phones, tablets and smartwatches. The ‘Standard’ plan includes accidental damage and accessory protection, while ‘Carefree’ adds theft and loss cover for phones only.
