Quore’s Sutton headquarters is marked by a red sign, small enough that the taxi slows to a crawl so we can make it out from the other similar-looking buildings it is sandwiched between. But all is not as it seems.
Once inside, managing director Ronojay Nag booms that the old guard in mobile have had their day and it’s time for new generation firms like Quore to leave their mark on the industry with their own innovation.
As a typical B2B dealer, Quore has established itself as a strong player, with direct relationships with O2 and Vodafone alongside being a gold partner of Vodafone-owned Yes Telecom. Nag says this isn’t doubling up; it simply allows Quore to select the best offerings from between the two.
In fixed-line, it is an elite partner of The Carphone Warehouse-owned Opal, and is a reseller of Avaya office phone systems. It is also hoping to qualify for a position in the O2 Centre of Excellence.
Selling this portfolio to its 600 SME customers already makes it a busy day, but Nag doesn’t believe there is a future in conducting business typically. Behind the scenes, there is a team of software developers and analysts driving additional revenue channels. Quore has already begun selling its own customer resource management software to dealers and is looking for customers for its self-developed signature capture programme. It will also delve into the distribution of high-end niche products, while setting up an Indian arm of the business. The ultimate goal is the evolution of the Quore brand, which, Nag says, will outgrow the small sign, and eventually the Sutton base.
