Vodafone recruits M&S India CEO to head up direct sales

M&S veteran Martin Jones to replace Mike Durbridge as head of direct sales

Vodafone UK has appointed former Marks & Spencers India CEO Martin Jones as its new head of direct sales.

Jones replaces Mike Durbridge, who Vodafone said would be taking up a role within Vodafone Group dealing with its multi-channel distribution and retail operations.

Jones will report to Vodafone consumer director Srini Gopalan from July 30.

Gopalan said: “We look forward to welcoming Martin to Vodafone UK to continue the transformation of our retail experience to deliver the mobile internet into our customers’ hands.

“Mike has built a formidable multi channel business here and his new role offers a fantastic opportunity to apply that on a global scale.”
