Huawei unveils dual-core MediaPad tablet

Device, which will run off the Android 3.2 (Honeycomb) operating system, to be available before the end of the year

Huawei will launch the MediaPad, the first seven-inch Android 3.2 (Honeycomb) dual-core tablet, in global markets before the end of the year.

The device is powered by Qualcomm’s dual-core 1.2GHz processor and supports full HD video playback as well as featuring a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera dna five megapixel auto focus rear facing camera with HD video recording capabilities.

The MediaPad comes with HSPA+ 14.4Mbps, Wi-Fi capabilities, HDMI port and pre-installed applications such as Facebook and Twitter.

Huawei Device chief marketing officer Victor Xu said: “The 7-inch tablet remains the preferred size for portability and Android Honeycomb 3.2 is dedicated to enhance the full potential of 7-inch tablets. Huawei is very pleased to be the first to offer this package to consumers globally.”
