EE expands store role with online safety service

EE is offering 36,000 hours of free online safety appointments across its retail estate as it expands the role of stores beyond sales and customer service.

Customers `are being offered 30-minute one-to-one “Parents’ Evening” sessions at EE stores this month with appointments continuing during the academic year.

Retail staff will help parents set up parental controls, review app settings and advise on online safety and social media use.

The initiative builds on EE’s existing family proposition, which includes Safer SIM mobile plans designed specifically for under-18s and content filtering and parental controls for home broadband.

It also gives EE another service to attract people into its high-street stores as operators examine how their brocks and mortar can provide services beyond sales and contract upgrades.EE expands retail role with nationwide online safety service
