BlackBerry’s head of BBM Andrew Bocking departs

Head of enterprise John Sims has been tasked with looking after the messaging service

BlackBerry executive vice president of BBM Andrew Bocking has left the company.

The division will come under the responsibility of head of enterprise John Sims, who joined BlackBerry in December.

BBM (BlackBerry messenger) is a live messaging service that became available as an application on iOS and Android last year. In December, the company announced it had added 40 million new users across both operating systems in two months.

BlackBerry has said it will continue to be a focus for the company despite Bocking’s departure.
