Called Freedom the package is Jersey Telecoms alternative to the mainland pay as you talk boom. 20:20 Logistics provide the handset kitting and management operation. The JT GSM Freedom phone comes in a specially designed box.
Call charges are 15p a minute for local fixed and mobile numbers. There is also a 35 Sim-only package for those who have a contract and wish to switch to pre-pay or prefer to choose another model.
Jersey Telecom says Freedom has been designed to complement rather than compete against existing JT GSM tariffs.
This is unlike many UK tariffs targeted at groups such as young people or people that might be considered a credit risk.
Instead it is ideal for people who dont currently own a mobile phone (perhaps being put off by cost or signing a contract) and want low running costs by only making short local calls said the network.
