Daewoo phone launch delayed to end of Q1

However AnP marketing director Bill Mann has revealed that network operators did not show much interest in Daewoos proposed DW600 handset and a second Daewoo handset because the phones did not offer enough user features and were out of date.

We have had to change the product range explained Mann.

We have now decided to launch a mobile phone with a built-in camera and a colour screen.

We had a lot of bad feedback from network operators regarding the 600 series because they thought it was outdated and too similar to Samsungs handset.

We originally advised Daewoo that we didnt think the DW600 was right for the UK market but Daewoo persisted with it.

Mann says that Daewoo has now listened to feedback from UK network operators and has decided to launch two new mobile phones later this year.

The first phone is due within the next couple of months according to Mann.

The phones exact specifications are being kept under wraps however Mann revealed the first Daewoo handset would have polyphonic ringtones Bluetooth and a colour screen.

The camera phone is expected to follow shortly after.

Mann also revealed that AnP has finalised agreements with a UK distributor to distribute handsets once they start shipping into the UK.

We cant reveal who the distributor is said Mann.
