Deal with cloud solutions provider will enable Telefonica’s enterprise customers to improve productivity and deliver new revenue streams through producing their own apps

Telefonica Digital has partnered with FeedHenry to enable its enterprise customers to design, build and manage mobile applications hosted in the cloud.

The partnership will see Telefonica offer FeedHenry’s cloud-based mobile application platform alongside its Infrastructure-as-a-Service solution, which is optimised for mobile and M2M applications.

According to Telefonica Digital, the agreement will give businesses the ability to leverage the power of mobile and cloud to improve productivity and deliver new revenue streams.

This deal expands the relationship between the two companies after an agreement was struck last year to bring FeedHenry’s mobile applications platform to corporate customers in key Telefonica markets. This service is currently available through O2 in the UK, Ireland and Germany.

Telefonica Digital cloud director Tim Marsden said: “The intersection of mobile and cloud is a natural one. Our goal is to accelerate the availability of mobile-optimized, cloud-based services for app development and management, giving full access to cloud services like storage, security, caching, and server-side business logic.

“Our partnership with FeedHenry is an important step for us, helping us to extend our service offering to customers who are embracing mobile as part of their future business strategy.”

FeedHenry CEO Cathal McGloin said: “The key to mobile business success in this era of BYOD is to ensure apps are reliable, portable and secure across as many devices as possible and we are seeing increased demand from enterprises seeking cloud-based mobile app platforms to reduce up-front costs and time to market.

“Corporate IT and app development teams will now be able to build applications for the most demanding consumer and enterprise users to quickly and easily deploy them securely to the cloud”
