Former O-bit Telecom founder and CEO replaces Richard Bennett, who takes on an executive director role

Internet telephony provider Coms has appointed David Breith as its new CEO. He replaces Richard Bennett, who remains as executive director with responsibility for corporate development and M&A.

Coms added that Breith has also made a “significant” investment in the company, taking his overall shareholding to over 25 per cent of the company.

He was most recently CEO of telecoms provider O-bit Telecom for the past 10 years, a company he also established. O-bit was acquired by telecoms provider Daisy Group for an undisclosed fee in February 2011.

Breith said: “The Group has great potential and I am looking forward to working with the team to drive the business forward and achieve the growth of which I know it is capable. The opportunity here is unique; the business is primed and ready for substantial growth which I believe I can deliver based on my attributes and track record in the industry.”

Bennett added: “David is a successful entrepreneur in the telecoms sector with a proven track record in developing businesses and a wealth of experience in all aspects of the industry. He has been building profitable businesses throughout his career and his appointments marks an important step in the expansion of the management team to accelerate Coms growth.”
