Modernised shops include flat-screen TVs promoting latest offers and live demonstration handsets

Retailer Get Connected is scheduled to complete its store refit programme in the first week of February 2013 – almost two months ahead of schedule.

The Welsh-based retailer began its store refurbishment plan in May. It has so far refitted 49 of its 70 store estate averaging two stores per week.

The firm’s managing director Damian Cole originally targeted a completion date of April 2013 but has now brought the rollout forwards based on increased footfall and sales in new stores.

The new modernised shops include flat-screen TVs displaying the latest offers in store and live demo handsets.

Get Connected managing director Damian Cole said: “After taking another look at the progress we were making, we realised we could finish ahead of schedule. Initially we hadn’t seen a dramatic rise in footfall into the new stores but over the last few weeks customers are being enticed through the door, which shows what we’re doing is definitely working.”
