Move over, EE Experience—there’s a new retail sheriff in town. Virgin Media O2 has launched its new flagship store at Westfield Stratford City, which, at nearly 5,000 square feet, is claimed to be the largest telecoms retail space in the UK.

Westfield Stratford City is one of Europe’s busiest retail destinations, drawing 50 million visitors annually. It opened in 2011 and spans over 1.9 million square feet of retail and leisure space and has more than 350 stores and 80 restaurants, cafes, and bars, offering a variety of cuisines. Its 20-screen Vue Cinema is one of the largest in the UK.

This superstore is part of Virgin Media O2’s broader retail transformation initiative, which has already enhanced over 100 stores across the UK. The Stratford location is envisioned as a “community hub,” offering cutting-edge technology, expert support, and digital upskilling opportunities.

The store features an open-plan design and is divided into interactive discovery zones:

Expert Support Bar  Central hub for personalized tech advice.

Ultimate Gaming Zone  Showcasing advanced AR and VR gaming technologies.

Fitness & Wellbeing Area  Wearable tech and interactive challenges.

Priority from O2 Highlighting Virgin Media O2’s customer rewards program.

The store serves as a National Databank hub, offering free O2 SIM cards with 25GB of monthly data, plus texts and calls, to those who qualify for free data assistance.

Rob Orr, Chief Operations Officer at Virgin Media O2, said:

Over the past year, we’ve invested millions to upgrade our retail presence, and we’re excited to continue expanding and innovating in 2025 and beyond.”
