ZTE’s Blade III, a low-end Android smartphone, goes on sale from Virgin Media today

Chinese manufacturer ZTE has launched the Blade III smartphone in the UK.

The low-end device goes on sale in store and online from Virgin Media today from £79.99 on prepay and £13 a month on contract.

The ZTE Blade III has a 4-inch screen, a 2.5GB memory expandable to 32GB, and runs on Android 4.0.

ZTE UK’s account director Kalam Meah said the manufacturer paid close attention to feedback when designing the Blade III, which has more storage space than others in the Blade range.

“We believe that the ZTE Blade III will bring a quality mobile experience to a larger UK audience,” said Meah.

Virgin Media’s director of mobile Jamie Heywood said: “With expandable storage and the most affordable 4 inch screen on the market, the ZTE Blade III offers customers plenty of smartphone bang for their buck.

“The Blade III is a great addition to our range and when combined with Virgin Media’s ‘Premiere’ tariff which offers unlimited data and calls from just £21 per month, it’s proof that you can go big with your smartphone without breaking the bank.”
