Vodafone ‘Xchange’ no-penalty scheme tempts contract customers to change phones annually

Vodafone is promising contract customers a new phone every year without any early upgrade fees or remaining charges.

They must  exchange their existing device for an iPhone 16 or a model from its range of ‘Pristine’ refurbished phones.

Under the  Vodafone Xchange scheme customers can choose a phone with 0% APR and customisable upfront costs. When they exchange their phones, Vodafone promises to give full value for the device. If the phone’s value exceeds the remaining balance on the customer’s plan, the difference will be credited back.

Pay Monthly smartphones all come with a Lifetime Service Promise, which includes free Battery Refresh and a Lifetime Warranty at no extra cost.

Eligible phones eligible phone needs to be classed as ‘Good Condition’: 

  • Be able to turn on

  • Not have any cracks, chips or deep scratches 

  • Be free from any damage to the LCD screens including missing pixels, lighting or screen accuracy issues 

  • Have no damage that would affect the function of the phone, such as but not limited to damage to the camera, audio, connectivity, power and charge buttons, etc 

  • Have no liquid damage

  • Not be bent or misshapen 

  • Have no replacement parts that are not from the original equipment manufacturer 

  • Not be a lost, blocked, stolen, or fake device

  • Have activation locks (such as Find My iPhone or Find My Mobile) deactivated
