Vodafone profits as Olive bags 6,000 connections from O2

Major contracts with CitySprint and Murphy Group worth around 3,000 connections each

Olive Communications has boosted its Vodafone connection base by a further 6,000 after securing two new major contracts wins from O2 Direct.

The two contracts, both on three-year terms, include 3,000 connections with Redhill-based same-day courier firm CitySprint and 3,000 connections with London-based civil engineering company Murphy Group.

The new additions take Olive’s connection base above 116,000, with the vast majority of those connected on to the Vodafone network.

Broad and flexible

Olive chief executive Martin Flick (pictured) said Olive secured the win as a result of its broad and flexible product and service offerings stating the deal is likely to extend into other areas to provide a fully-enabled unified communications rollout.

Flick said: “We’re seeing a great deal of traction with major UK enterprises wanting more from their communications infrastructure, both in terms of making the commercials work but also in terms of what a managed service provider can deliver across the board.

“Businesses with large numbers of mobile workers – construction and courier services like Murphy and CitySprint are great examples – can really benefit from working with unified communications providers such as Olive, which can often be more agile and innovative than the major networks and offer customers a more personal and dedicated service.”
