Vodafone platinum partner renames mobile arm, with MD departing

Totility has been rebranded as Maintel Mobile with MD Terence McKeever leaving his post last week to return in a consultancy role in January.

It follows the buyout of Totility by fixed-line firm Maintel in September last year for figure of around £7m.

Founded by McKeever in Croydon, Surrey, Totility has been supplying mobile services to businesses since 2005 and at the point of acquisition had 12,000 connections across Vodafone and O2.

Since the buy-out was announced in October staff have moved into Maintel’s main office in Southwark, London, and the firm was promoted into the top tier of Vodafone’s partner programme earlier this year.

Maintel marketing director Helena Ostlin Hope told Mobile News: “We’ve done a phased approach to the name change being mindful of the relationship the customers may have with Terry or the existing team, but the reality is the team is still here.

“We’ve taken all of this time to show we’ve integrated the businesses properly now we feel this is the time to make a name change as we feel the impact will be less.”

McKeever added: “Totility is who we were but now we’re Maintel. It’s the same customer service ethos, just under a different banner.”
