Bertoluzzo joined the operator’s Italian arm in 1999 and plans to take up new role there

Vodafone Group’s chief commercial operations and strategy officer Paolo Bertoluzzo will leave the operator in July, it has announced.

Bertoluzzo is a long-term Vodafone veteran, having joined Vodafone Italy as strategy and business development director in 1999. He held several roles in the Group’s Italian arm, including chief commercial officer and chief operating officer.

In 2012, he became Vodafone Group regional CEO for South Europe and took up his current role in October 2013. He is leaving to become chief executive of Italian finance firm ICBPI.

Vodafone Group chief executive Vittorio Colao said “Paolo has been an outstanding colleague who has made an immense contribution during his time in Italy and on our Executive Committee.

“I wish him every success in his new role, which I know he will undertake with the devotion and commitment that drove so many valuable and effective initiatives during his 17 years with Vodafone.”

Vodafone said it will announce his successor in due course.
