Vodafone and Gigs partner to power UK startups who want to launch mobile comms services

Vodafone has partnered with Gigs, to provide UK startups the ability to launch their own mobile services. The announcement comes less than a week after Vodafone revealed a similar “MVNO In A Box” initiative with eSIM Go.

Gigs is a  platform that enables businesses to integrate mobile connectivity into their products and services and offer launch wireless services, such as phone plans and travel data, in just a few weeks.

Founded in 2020 by Hermann Frank and Dennis Bauer, Gigs is backed by Google, Y Combinator, and  investors like Dara Khosrowshahi (CEO of Uber), Tony Xu (Co-founder & CEO of DoorDash), and Fidji Simo (CEO of Instacart). The company now employs over 90 people across the US and Europe.

The Gigs platform enables businesses to offer connectivity options to their customers when they make a purchase, allowing them to connect to the Vodafone network quickly and efficiently. Companies can launch mobile services within weeks rather than months or years.

Gigs tools for can produce customisable mobile plans, including options for data, talk, and text allowances. Companies set their pricing and branding. These plans can be integrated into apps using Gigs’ telecom API or through simple link for customers to sign up, pay, and activate their eSIM

Our customers, can now seamlessly bundle their existing offerings with phone plans in their  brand on Vodafone’s 5G network.”
