Outlet in Westfield Shopping Centre, west London to provide customers with an interactive retail experience

Virgin Media has opened a new concept store at the Westfield Shopping Centre in west London, aimed at providing customers with the most interactive and efficient retail experience.

The ‘Our House’ outlet, which showcases Virgin’s mobile, fibre broadband and TiVo products, sees customers greeted by either Richard Branson or Olympic gold medalists Mo Farah and Usain Bolt via a full HD digital door.

One wall features a large touchscreen displaying images of all handsets ranged by the company (pictured). Customers touching one will be presented with the product’s specifications and tariff options

They can also compare devices and build their own mobile packages by selecting what amount of minutes, text messages and data they would require each month.

The opposite side of the store features a large interactive screen for staff to demonstrate the company’s fibre broadband products by showcasing speeds when downloading files, as well as TiVo lounges to take customers through the benefits of the set-top box product.

Virgin Media retail director Paul Williams said: “We’re in the business of connecting and entertaining people whether they’re at home or on the move, so we wanted to inject fun into the shopping experience too.

“This transformational approach is inspired by what our customers have been telling us and we’ve created a more immersive experience in keeping with our Virgin heritage. It’s been a fantastic project to work on and we want to take elements from here across all stores in the future.”
