Tariffs start from £6 per month for a 30-day rolling deal to £25 per month, with free messaging on WhatsApp and Facebook included

Virgin Media has introduced 4G services running off EE with free WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger as standard for its customers.

Its tariffs will also contain a ‘rollover’ feature that will allow customers to add any unused data onto the next month’s allowances, meaning that consumers will always get what they pay for.

The new plans start from £6 per month for a 30 day rolling contract with 300 minutes, unlimited texts and 300MB of data to £25 per month for 5,000 minutes, unlimited texts and 20GB of data.

The deal will mean consumers will be able to send messages, pictures and videos to anyone on Whatsapp or Facebook Messenger for free and will also be alerted when data is rolled over to the next month and a subsequent message when the leftover data is gone.

They will also be able to take advantage of Virgin’s 250,000 WiFi hotspots around the country, available in airports, cafes and London Underground stations.

‘We’ve got that covered too’

Virgin Media managing director of Mobile Peter Kelly said: “By offering free messaging on WhatsApp and Messenger we’re making sure that Virgin Media customers never have to worry about messaging friends or family and if there’ data left over at the end of the month then we’ve got that covered too.

“Virgin Media’s new mobile plans are fast flexible and filled with data. With 4G our customers have a quicker way to browse, message, stream and play wherever they are.”
