Truphone claims to have provisioned over four million eSIM profiles worldwide
Truphone has secured an additional £30 million in funding from its investors as it looks to further develop its software solutions.
Although Truphone has not confirmed the exact details of those investors, the latest investment means the UK-based eSIM developer has reached a value of £410 million.
Truphone’s eSIM services allows users to access multiple networks on their device, such as from Apple’s iPad or Apple Watch.
Founded in 2006, Truphone claims to have provisioned over four million eSIM profiles worldwide to consumer and IoT devices since it launched the first eSIM in September 2018, with around 20,000 eSIMs being downloaded every-day.
Truphone CEO Ralph Steffens said: “We have long championed eSIM as the superior method of connectivity, and its immensely rewarding to reap the benefits of this decision. We are delighted that our investors continue to support us as we develop this technology which is maturing and accelerating all the time.”
Truphone offers a number of different services to its customers, as one of its solutions Truphone Io3 has its own operating system that can be loaded onto different types of hardware.
These services are fully compatible with most industry standards including ISO and GSMA, Oracle’s Java, Global Platform, 3GPP and ETSI.
