The network released its latest financial results today (March 17)

Three’s total revenue for last year totalled £2.1 billion – a six per cent year on year increase.

The network released these figures in its latest financial results published today (March 17). Total revenue for 2014 was just over £2 billion. EBITDA in 2015 also stood at over £686 million – a 25 per cent year on year increase from £547 million.

Three recorded over 10 million registered customers last year – a 5 per cent increase from 2014. Six million of total customers last year were on contract.

Part of this growth was due to an increasing usage of data, claims chief executive Dave Dyson. Average data usage for its customer base increased from 3.3GB per month in 2014 to 5GB last year. He said: “The standout feature of 2015 was the growth per customer in data usage.

“The appetite for increasing amounts of data continues to be very clear. We’ve taken important steps to ensure coverage and existing benefits like Feel at Home continue to improve with customers.”

Dyson claimed that streaming services like YouTube make up 60 per cent of all data usage. Social media makes up  18 per cent, whilst apps like Instagram and Snapchat shared 3 per cent respectively.

Three claims three million customers have enjoyed its Feel At Home roaming package, which allows users to use data, minutes and texts in 18 countries at no extra cost. It added the customers have saved £2.6 billion in roaming charges with the service.
