Simon Groves, who spent 12 years as head of brand and marketing at O2, is taking on a similar role at Tesco Mobile

Tesco Mobile has appointed former O2 head of marketing Simon Groves as its chief marketing officer.

Groves will be responsible for all customer facing marketing and brand activities at Tesco Mobile, as part of its drive to increase its customer base.

He joins the company from Telefonica UK (O2), where he spent 12 years as head of brand, marketing and customer experience strategy.

Tesco Mobile and Tesco Telecoms chief executive Roger Fogg said the appointment demonstrates the company’s “commitment to fresh thinking.”

Groves said: “I look forward to working with Roger and the rest of the team to ensure that on its ten year anniversary, Tesco Mobile remains a highly competitive network delivering great experiences for all our customers.”
