Phones 4U promotes Phil Dobson to deputy group CEO and appoints former FirstGroup Plc and Combined Insurance Group CEOs to senior positions
Phones 4U has promoted the former CEO of its distribution business Phil Dobson (pictured middle) to the role of deputy group CEO.
Dobson will be replaced by former bus and rail operator FirstGroup Plc CEO Mary Grant (pictured left) who will take charge of the company’s 586 retail stores and will be responsible for growing both the retailers online and high street presence.
Alongside Dobson, former Combined Insurance Group CEO Chris Harrison (pictured right) joins the company as CEO of Phones 4U’s Lifestyles Service Group (LSG).
Harrison will take full accountability for the creation of LSG’s strategy moving forward.
Phones 4U group CEO Tim Whiting said: “ I believe this is the right time to invest further in the business and I am delighted to announce the promotion of Phil Dobson to Deputy Group CEO following his successful running of both divisions within the Group.
“In addition, I am pleased to welcome Mary Grant and Chris Harrison to the Group, both of whom bring with them proven track records of strong leadership and of delivering financial growth.
“Alongside this, I am very happy with the performance of the business during the last quarter of 2011.
“Despite the tough conditions we are seeing on the high street, I’m confident that we can maintain this positive momentum into 2012.”
