The name change reflects the start of a new-era for mobile innovations, according to Samsung’s TM Roh

Samsung has announced the renaming of its mobile business from Mobile Communications to MX (Mobile Experience).

The name change highlights Samsung’s drive to innovate and create a more personalised customer experience.

The new title emphasises a user-centric focus that will address the ever-evolving business environment and focus on meeting the needs of its diverse customers.

Samsung plans to open up possibilities for its customers through its freedom of choice, open platforms and various partnerships.

“We’re excited to announce the renaming of our business after decades of innovation and leadership in the mobile industry,” said TM Roh, president of the MX business.

“We believe this name change will help us usher in a new era in mobile innovations where we can create even more exciting possibilities for Galaxy users.”

MX says it will seek to continue innovating through expansion of the Galaxy ecosystem, harnessing the potential of devices including smartphones, tablets, wearables, PCs and other services.

At the time of writing, Mobile News couldn’t reach Samsung for further comment.
