Phones 4u is launching an interactive video today to support its multi-million pound and biggest ever marketing campaign entitled ‘For the Future You’.
The retailer launched the push last month across TV, online, social media, print and out-of-home with the aim of driving home what the firm terms “brand truths”.
It admitted it had previously been guilty of not promoting its service offering as well as the products that it offers.
The ‘You to the Future’ interactive video will be available through a microsite that will be promoted through Phones 4u’s Facebook and Twitter channels from this afternoon.
Once the person inputs their location, name and a photo of themselves, they will be transported through a ride in the DeLorean time machine from the current Phones 4u ad.
It begins with the person’s location based on Google Maps data, before moving on a few years, where they are leading a celebrity lifestyle where their face is appearing on billboards and posters.
They are then transported 100 years into the future, to a world of hoverboards and flying taxis, before arriving in a post-apocalyptic world where they lead a successful fight to save the galaxy.
The video, which runs until the end of the year along with the ad push, supports Phones 4u’s ongoing #FutureYou social campaign, which asks its online followers “What does the FutureYou look like?”, which it said offers to support their personal journeys into the future.
The retailer has fulfilled 100 personalised requests to date, from delivering a new guitar to support a person’s music career, to offering someone the chance to visit a relative in Australia earlier than they had planned.
