Retailer will sell both the black and white variants when the Nokia handset goes on sale on May 14, over two weeks later than previously announced

Phones 4U will be the first retailer to range the Nokia Lumia 900 smartphone when it goes on sale in the UK on May 14.

The handset was meant to go on sale on April 27 but Phones 4U said that due to the phone’s overwhelming success in the US and with the high demand for Lumia smartphones, the release date has been pushed back.

The Lumia 900 will be available in both black and white, following Phones 4U’s confirmation on April 10 of its white exclusivity across the whole Lumia portfolio of smartphones, including the 710 and 800.

Customers who pre-ordered the Lumia 900 from the Phones 4U website on or before April 16 will receive a set of Nokia Purity by Monster in-ear headphones in addition to their free Nokia Play 360 wireless speaker (pictured bottom right).

The Lumia 900 is powered by a 1.4GHz processor and runs off the Windows Phone 7.5 Mango operating system.

It has a 4.3-inch touchcreen made from Gorilla Glass, eight megapixel rear camera, one megapixel front-facing camera, 16GB of internal memory and SkyDrive Cloud storage.
