PCS Wireless appoints new CFO as company seeks international growth

Gillespie replaces long-time CFO John Sarto who retires later month

PCS Wireless has appointed Dennis Gillespie as chief financial officer, as the company seeks to boost its international presence.

Gillespie joins the secondary mobile device distributor from Omnicom Group, where he was also CFO.

He replaces the current CFO John Sarto, who is set to retire later this month after nine years at the company.

In his new role Gillespie will lead the global financial functions which includes accounting, treasury, FP&A and corporate finance.

During his 14-year tenure at Omnicom, Gillespie worked in a range of CFO roles across different regions.

New faces

His appointment follows that of Sumi Sran as the chief technology officer in April last year and Bashar Nejdawi as chief operating officer.

Commenting on his new role, Gillespie said: “I’m excited to join PCS and provide the financial stewardship that empowers business operations and expansion.”

PCS Wireless COO Nejdawi adds: “PCS enters its twentieth year of operations in 2021 with ambitious plans for international expansion and a technological transformation of our business.

“Dennis brings extensive international financial experience within technologically-focussed industries that will help us achieve that.”

US-based PCS Wireless were founded in 2001 and celebrate 20 years this year, with the company expanding its presence in Europe last year, through the appointment of former Data Select man Fergal Donovan as its regional president for Europe.
