Duo sign up for a further two years, with decision driven by the efficiencies provided by its fleet management solution, CommsManager

Onecom has signed new two-year contracts with its Arup and Skanska, totalling more than 10,000 Vodafone connections.

The Whiteley-based Vodafone Platinum Partner, which manages more than 250,000 mobile connections, declined to break down how many lines each was for or their value, due to strict NDAs.

Both signed with Onecom in 2012, with the B2B dealer providing Skanska with 3,500 connections and Arup with more than 3,000. They will continue to be provided with a blend of smartphones, predominantly Apple iPhones.

CommsManager

Onecom said its custom-built fleet management solution CommsManager, which was introduced into the business in December 2014, was instrumental in securing contract renewals with both companies.

This is an online communications portal that enables businesses to manage their account in real-time, from tracking and controlling employee usage, placing orders and organising handset returns and replacements.

‘Golden ticket’

Onecom managing director Richard Schafer (pictured) said: “CommsManager is fast becoming the golden ticket for mobile communications managers. It puts them in control of their spend, devices and connections so there are no surprises when bills comes in.

“They told us CommsManager was one of the services we offer that helped secure the deal. It has become a vital part of their cost control and mobile fleet management arrangements.”

Global design, planning and engineering firm Arup employs more than 12,000 people and has 92 offices across the world (15 in the UK). It is best known for the structural design of the Sydney Opera House in 1976.

Project development and construction company Skanska is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden and employs more than 57,000 people throughout Europe, the US and Latin America, with its UK offices in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire.
