Motorola sharpens the Razr range with two new devices and adds a £299 5G phone

Motorola is launching a new £299 5G Moto g85 5G in August and added two new devices to the Razr family

The Moto g85 5G will be sold through Amazon, Argos, John Lewis & Partners, Vodafone, and EE, from August 2nd. Carphone Warehouse and Currys will offer the phone on a plan costing £14.99 per month over 24 months for 100GB, with no upfront cost, available exclusively on ID Mobile

Motorola has also updated the Motorola Razr line with the Razr 50 Ultra and Razr 50 featuring advanced AI capabilities and larger external displays. The £799 Motorola Razr 50 will be available in the UK in early July, The £999 Motorola Razr 50 Ultra is available from networks.

£799 Motorola Razr 50

Giffgaff –  £37.06 per month over 36 months, with £25 upfront, 25GB of data, unlimited minutes and texts.

Vodafone – £28 per month over 36 months with a 24-month 8GB Airtime plan.

Three- £48 per month over 36 months, with £50 upfront, unlimited data, unlimited minutes and texts.

Currys –£29.99 per month over 24 months for 100GB, with £99 upfront on ID Mobile.

The Razr 50 Ultra has a 4.0-inch screen, while the Razr 50 has a 3.6-inch display. Users can access Google’s Gemini app directly from the external display and get three months of Gemini Advanced at no extra cost, including 2TB of cloud storage and AI features in Google apps.

Performance and Features

The Motorola Razr 50 Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform and features a 4000mAh battery with reverse and wireless charging. The Motorola Razr 50 includes a 4200mAh battery, 30W TurboPower charging, and a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7300X processor.

Moto Ecosystem Expansion

Motorola is also launching its own version of Apple Air Tag called the £35 Moto Tag (below. This is a Bluetooth tracking accessory with Ultra Wideband for tracking items through Google’s Find My Device network, complementing the recently released It costs £119.99 for a 4-pack from Motorola.co.uk and John Lewis & Partners.

Software Enhancements

Motorola’s Hello UX software platform offers features like prioritised summaries of personal communications, instant recording and transcribing of conversations, and AI-driven information capture and storage.
