He revealed some key milestones including 240 million smartphone shipments plus over 10 million 5G smartphone sales as of the end of January.

Sequel

Huawei’s Mate Xs features an upgraded mechanical hinge, with a falcon wing design implemented to provide a more robust experience than the previous version.

Service ecosystem expansion

The HMS (Huawei Mobile Services) ecosystem is crucial to the future of Huawei according to Yu.

“To cultivate a fully-fledged ecosystem that will support Huawei devices moving forward, we are gradually opening up our chip-device-cloud capabilities to global developers through HMS.

“Encompassing all-scenario features, global distribution and lifecycle management capabilities, the HMS ecosystem we envisioned will be a powerful pillar supporting our devices.”

During the event Huawei also confirmed that it will launch the P40 series in Paris next month on March 26.
