Odin, formerly owned by Parallels, is core system in Ingram’s Cloud Marketplace with 500 staff set to be integrated
Ingram Micro has bought the Odin Service Automation platform from Parallels for an undisclosed fee.
The distributor will integrate Odin into its existing cloud ecosystem including the Cloud Marketplace (launched in the UK in March), which runs on Odin’s system.
Ingram has purchased associated cloud management technologies, intellectual property and the Odin brand, along with 500 staff who will be retained.
Odin will become part of Ingram Micro’s Cloud division, which is currently led by executive vice president Nimesh Dave.

Parallels will maintain ownership of its two other major service provider business units Plesk and Virtuozzo, which will be structured as separate companies. Both product lines will be available for Ingram Micro to resell to its customers.
