Carphone Warehouse MVNO announces its first sponsorship agreement at two-day London event

iD Mobile has been named as official WiFi provider for London’s OnBlackheath Festival.

The Dixons Carphone MVNO, which launched last year running on Three’s network, will provide connectivity at the two-day event, which will take place on September 10 and 11.

There will also be an iD Mobile stage, which will see performances from acts including Neneh Cherry, Jazzie B (Soul II Soul), Don Letts and Craig Charles.

Around 40,000 people are expected to attend the festival, which will be headlined by Primal Scream and Belle & Sebastian. It will be the first festival sponsored by the fledgling MVNO.

iD Mobile brand marketing manager John Annoh said: “This is a really exciting time for us, we’re delighted to be part of the OnBlackheath Festival and be the official WiFi provider to help ensure everyone is connected at a time when they want to share their memories online.

“The festival is a natural fit for the iD Mobile brand as we continue to attract young independents and families alike with our range of plans that appeal to both audiences.”
