Google’s Grace Hopper subsea cable has landed in Bude, Cornwall,
The cable improves the resilience of the Google network and will connect New York to Bude and Bilbao.
Grace Hopper is part of Google’s ongoing investment in the UK and will support users who rely on its products.
Following a successful Bilbao landing in September, the cable will use novel “fibre switching” for increased reliability.
Google says the Grace Hopper cable will connect the U.K. to help meet the rapidly growing demand for high-bandwidth connectivity and services.
Grace Hopper is the latest cable to connect continents along the ocean floor with an additional layer of security beyond what’s available over the public internet.
