Former Exertis UK mobile sales director Mark Weston has joined WorkPal as UK sales director.
Weston joins the cloud-based job management software company after four years at Exertis, following his departure from the distributor last month.
His new role will see him looking to grow the business in London, with WorkPal having established offices in Belfast, Dublin, North Lanarkshire and the US.
The firm is a sister company of Belfast-based telecoms service provider Barclay Communications.
Commenting on his appointment, Weston told Mobile News it was a difficult decision to leave Exertis, but that he is excited to work in the software-as-a-service (SaaS) sector again.
“I saw there was an opportunity and thought, let’s get into the SaaS business. I’ve done it before at Symantec and Microsoft, so I’ve got a software background.”
Weston added: “It’s really exciting to be in this business now and help businesses to go on a digital transformation.”
An experienced figure within the mobile industry, Weston was at HTC prior to his time at Exertis and has also held roles at Microsoft, Symantec, Tech Data and LG.
