The appointment of Turner is Exertis’ fifth in the past fortnight
Exertis has continued its recruitment drive with the appointment of Phillip Turner as global head of voice of the customer.
Turner joins Exertis from IG Design Group where he was for four years and most recently MD of the licensing business, and will report to Exertis global operations managing director Neal Johnston in what is a newly created position at the distributor.
Turner’s appointment follows Exertis recruiting head of enterprise and vendor management Angelo Apa, general sales manager Zoe Doel, general manager for the computing and TFT division Sarah Potter and most recently Caroline Hope as commercial director for consumer products.
Before his time at IG Design Group, Turner spent three years as business development director at office supplies distributor Spicers.
Johnston said customer feedback was a key reason behind the newly created role and has welcomed Turner’s appointment.
“In an extremely competitive market, customers demand a personalised experience and really knowing and understanding our customers is critical.
“Voice of the customer is all about delivering a culture of putting our customers at the heart of everything we do and ensuring that by analysing data and feedback, Exertis can take appropriate actions in order to improve customer experience and deliver positive business outcomes.”
He added: “Phil has a great deal of sales and marketing experience and together with his analytical and leadership skills, made him an ideal candidate for the role.”
Commenting on his new role, Turner said: “I am looking forward to the challenge of undertaking this new role at such an exciting period of evolution and growth at Exertis. Voice of the customer initiatives represent a huge opportunity for driving loyalty and increased sales by focusing on customer needs, expectations and service.”
