The partnership will enable Norwegian-based Xplora to grow in the UK

Exertis has announced a partnership with children’s smartwatch brand Xplora Technologies.

The partnership sees Norwegian-based Xplora as the latest brand to join the distributors portfolio.

Xplora’s watches are designed to be children’s ‘first mobile device’ and designed to be used safely with privacy concerns.

Feature services such as internet access, social media and game-related apps are all removed.

The devices can be controlled or guardians via an app which gives control over phone calls, text messages and location tracking.

Users can also keep tabs on safety zone setting and tracking, contact list management, alarm setting, school mode setting and an even a remote shut down of the watch.

SOS feature

There is also an SOS feature on the side of every Xplora device that, when pressed for three seconds, activates emergency call mode. This in turn transmits the location of the child to its primary and then secondary contact on the app.

Commenting on the partnership Exertis director of business development and innovation Paul Jacobs said: “The addition of Xplora to our offering, a brand with such a strong vision and with children’s safety and connectivity at the heart, is something we’re excited about bringing to the market.

“We are pleased to be part of a movement that works toward healthier and more socially engaged children, and Xplora’s vision of enabling children around the world to experience how their everyday activities can make a positive change to the world is an ethos we are proud to implement.”

The partnership meanwhile represents a chance for Xplora to grow its UK presence, adds its founder and CEO Sten Kirkbak.

“Exertis is key to our growth plans in the UK and will enable us to reach more retailers and ultimately get our products into the hands of consumers, helping to safeguard children and reward activity.”
