Former Assurant Europe CEO Andy Morris has joined Likewize to run its global strategy and develop new markets in device protection, repair, warranty and related solutions
Morris has over 20 years of experience in device protection services. As well as being CEO of Assurant Europe Morris has held positions at Barclays, GE, Apple Financial Services and Sun Microsystems Finance.
“I’m confident I will help expand the number of international consumers, clients and partners recognising the benefits of working with us”, he said
Likewize operates in over 30 countries around the world and handles insurance, warranty, repair, upgrade, and premium support services covering around 250 million devices. The company began as mobile phone distributor Brightstar and in the UK bought 2020Mobie and transitioned into a tech protection and support company.
Likewize CEO Rod Millar said: “Andy’s wealth of knowledge and experience will help us solidify our market-leading position. As we move into our next ambitious phase of international growth, we need someone with Andy’s skills and proven track record to help us maximise our success.”
Likewize’s major customers include global Amazon, Apple, Tesco, Telefonica, Vodafone, Walmart, Rogers, Samsung and O2.
In November it concluded a major equity funding deal with San Francisco-based private equity firm Genstar Capital and joined existing private equity investor, Brightstar Capital Partners.
