Vodafone platinum partner takes 1,300 connections from deal as its base exceeds 60,000 numbers

Evolve Telecom has added 1,300 connections with the base acquisition of rival dealer JL Communications.

The acquisition, which was for an undisclosed fee, takes Evolve’s connection base to more than 60,000 and individual customers to more than 3,000.

Evolve told Mobile News all connections from JL Communications, a Vodafone silver partner, are now being managed by B2B dealer and fellow Vodafone platinum partner The Word, which Evolve acquired in June.

Evolve also acquired London-based Vodafone silver partner MPC Romford for an undisclosed fee in May, adding 1,500 connections and Cambridge Business Solutions (CBS) in July 2010, adding 15,000 connections.

All six of JL Communications’ staff have been made redundant as part of the acquisition.

Evolve Telecom managing director Mark Gordon (pictured) said: “Following our acquisition of The Word, JL Communications saw it as an opportunity to approach us and we were able to agree something that both parties were happy with.”
