List of companies pulling out grows by the day

Eurostar Global Electronics has pulled out of this year’s Mobile World Congress, citing concerns about the coronavirus.

In a statement on LinkedIn, the distributor said: “Due to concerns regarding the outbreak of the new Coronavirus, Eurostar Global will no longer be attending this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona.

“This has been a difficult decision but Eurostar places the safety and well-being of its customers, employees & partners first. Please contact us directly if you have opportunities which you planned to discuss with any of the team at MWC.”

Eurostar joins other recent companies Interdigital, Mediatek, Vivo and Intel in deciding not to attend the event.

Eurostar has reaffirmed its commitment to attending the Mobile News Xpo in London on March 12, as well as the Mobile News Awards on the same day, at which it is the headline sponsor.
