Samsung KX opened its doors on July 31

Samsung KX has launched with the intention of providing Samsung fans and the public with the chance to experience the connected future.

That is according to Samsung director of KX Tanya Weller, who spoke to Mobile News at the official launch event of Samsung’s experience centre located in Kings Cross.

The new 20,000 square foot venue in Coal Drops Yard has a wide range of Samsung’s ecosystem of products on show including smartphones, TV’s and kitchen appliances.

As director of Samsung KX Weller has overseen the build of the flagship centre and hopes it can be rolled-out to more locations in the future, but believes Kings Cross to be the perfect location for the first showcase.

“If this is a success it would be great to see this rolled-out to more locations. Kings Cross is an area that has gone through huge regeneration in recent years and already has some amazing technology brands around here.

“There is also creative institutions around here such as Central St Martins. Kings Cross could become a hub for creativity.”

The showcase is aimed at engaging with a younger audience according to Weller.

While a host of Samsung products are on display to be tested, the aim of the centre isn’t sales, but to give people a hands on opportunity to test the products.

“Customers can buy products here if they’re interested, with items delivered to their home the next day. Sales were not our number one objective here, however if customers do have a good time here and enjoy the experience with our products then it’s likely they will want to buy them.”

Samsung KX officially opened on July 31, but marked the grand opening on September 3.
