American brand experienced 71,000pc growth in three years
Accessories vendor PopSockets has announced a retail partnership with Carphone Warehouse, which will see its products available in its stores and online.
PopSockets’ main product is a grip-like device that affixes to the back of any smartphone. The manufacturer also makes car mounts, and has devices released in the US such as an AirPod holder and a lip balm-containing grip.
Its products are already available in stores such as Boots and Argos, as well as from EE and Vodafone. Customers can also buy their own custom designs direct from the PopSockets website. PopSockets’ main B2B focus is as use for company promotion, featuring company logos on its designs.
UK country manager Stephen Hoare told Mobile News that more focused B2B selling will come as brand awareness increases in the UK.
Carphone Warehouse will range PopGrips in: Original Black, Enamel Solar Flare, Opal, Sparkle Snow White, Blue Nebula, White Marble and Black Metallic Diamond. It will also range the PopMirror, a grip with a built-in mirror.
Since its launch in 2014, PopSockets has sold more than 160 million units worldwide across 67 countries, seeing revenue grow by more that 71,000 per cent from 2015 to 2018. The European business is worth around 15 per cent of the global total, according to Hoare.
“Carphone is the retail bastion of everything to do with mobile phones and related accessories across the UK,” he said. “This is a strategic retail partnership that will encourage more consumers into stores and online. The high-end packaging, stylish look and innovative designs of our PopGrips will also increase the user’s enjoyment as they make considered purchases to personalise and get more from their mobile devices.”
PopSockets products are distributed in the UK by Swag Distribution, Strax and Kondor.
