Roaming between networks guarantees contiguous coverage for smart devices on the move
BT has switched on its IoT national roaming SIMs allowing businesses to s allow smart devices to connect to other mobile networks as well as EE while on the move or in remote locations.
The new IoT service will help drivers and delivery workers improve accuracy and efficiency by giving access to data in real-time such as changes to a delivery schedule and cold chain management to monitor temperatures on a refrigerated vehicle.
BT is also offering IoT roaming SIMS at the same price as its pay-as-you-use IoT SIM service. Businesses pay only for the data they use rather than underutilising data at a fixed rate.
“Businesses are increasingly understanding the benefits of using IoT devices Our IoT national roaming SIMs ensure those connections stay strong no matter where business takes you,” said Marc Overton, managing director, of Division X at BT.
“The added benefit of being able to switch to other operator networks, when necessary, also offers greater simplicity for businesses with many currently negotiating separate deals with mobile network operators depending on where they have operations in the country”.
