Jagusz joining from SSE Telecoms later this year with Azzurri chairman Steve Andrews continuing as interim chief executive officer until then

Telecoms provider Azzurri Communications has appointed SSE Telecom managing director Chris Jagusz as their new chief executive officer.

He will take up the new position ‘after the summer break’ with Azzurri chairman Steve Andrews continuing as interim chief executive officer in the meantime. Jagusz has been with fixed-line, data centre and broadband provider SSE Telecoms since 2012 and has previously held positions at Daisy Group, BT Wholesales and a number of other telecoms businesses.

Speaking to Mobile News before the name of the new chief executive was revealed Andrews said: “The person that we have chosen has got a really good broad background of both operational sales and marketing skills. He has worked with unified comms, mobile and he has got a really good pedigree.”

Andrews has been undertaking a strategic review of the business (more details in next edition of Mobile News) and says that the new chief executive officer has bought into that vision.

Jagusz will be charged with helping return Azzurri to growth after the firm posted several years of declining figures. Revenue has dipped from a high point of £140 million in 2010 to £111  million for the year-ending 30 June 2013.

No one from SSE Telecoms was available for comment.
