Aznu will extend its range beyond Samsung next year
A new refurbished smartphone range called Aznu has launched exclusively with retailer Argos, offering premium Samsung S devices.
The Aznu range launches today (September 23) with Argos Online, initially offering the Samsung S10 and S10+ smartphone.
Aznu claims its refurbished smartphones will be pristine quality, and free from scratches, scuffs, dents or marks.
The devices will use original manufacturer parts, while Aznu offers a year-long warranty with every device and six months for the battery. All Aznu devices will come with batteries that have a minimum of 85 per cent of their original life.
The launch comes amid a rise in traction for second-life handsets among consumers.
Appetite for second-life
Earlier this year, IDC revealed that 206.7 million refurbished and used smartphones were sold worldwide last year, with this figure forecast to rise to around 332.9 million in 2023.
And in January, CCS Insight revealed that 60 per cent of British consumers would now consider buying refurbished phones.
Aznu business development manager Stephen Smith said: “We launched Aznu to give a second life to handsets and offer customers a fully working handset that looks great at an affordable price.
“The refurbished market is growing, but it has issues; Aznu is making a stand and delivering ‘as new’ models to its customers.”
Unlike many other refurbished smartphone businesses, Aznu’s does not have a grading process, with its products sold as pristine devices in Aznu branded packaging.
The brand will extend its Samsung range next year, along with more manufacturers.
