The new handsets include the Diamond 2 Plus and Diamond 2 Note
Archos will reveal two new handsets at this year’s Mobile World Congress kicking off on February 22.
The Diamond 2 Note and Diamond 2 Plus (pictured) will be available in the UK from May priced respectively at £249 and £199. Both handsets include fingerprint sensors and run on Android Marshmallow 6.0, Google’s latest operating system.
A six-inch screen with 2K resolution – twice the quality of regular HD – will be available on the 2 Note. It comes with 32GB of internal memory and 3GB of RAM. There’s also a 3,600mAh battery, which Archos claims can gather 80 per cent charge in just 45 minutes. Cameras include a 16MP rear camera with 4K video recording, and an 8MP front camera.
The Diamond 2 Plus comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. A 5.5-inch HD screen has also been included, as well as a 20.7MP rear and 8MP front cameras. It has a micro USB Type-C connector, which Archos claims can transfer data and offer faster charging times than other USB cables.
