Apple also reported record-high services revenue

Apple has reported revenue growth of 36 per cent year-on-year, largely down to strong iPhone sales.

Services revenue also reached a record high as the US giant posted revenue of $81.4bn for its third fiscal quarter 2021, significantly higher than the $59.6bn for the same period last year.

It follows a strong year for Apple, with its most recent flagship range the iPhone 12 series, recently surpassing 100 million sales, according to Counterpoint Research.

And for this quarter Apple made $39.5bn in iPhone sales, up from $26.4bn last year.

Sales of Macs, iPads, wearables/homes/accessories and services also grew YoY for Apple.

Commenting on the results, Apple CEO Tim Cook said: “This quarter, our teams built on a period of unmatched innovation by sharing powerful new products with our users, at a time when using technology to connect people everywhere has never been more important.”

Apple also revealed quarterly earnings per diluted share of $1.30, while its board of directors declared a cash dividend of $0.22 per share. The dividend is payable on August 12.
