The TCL Plex aims to be an affordable alternative to higher priced smartphones
TCL’s first own-brand smartphone to release in Europe does not currently have a UK release date.
The Chinese company told Mobile News that they would not be releasing their latest flagship in the UK. TCL Plex general manager Stefan Streit said that that the phone will only be available in some European markets.
This is the first time that the Alcatel and Blackberry licensee has released a phone under the TCL banner in Europe. The company is keen to expand to European territories with a gradual release of their latest smartphone.
TCL gave Mobile News an early look at their latest flagship and it aims to be an impressive addition to the mid-range smartphone market.
The phone comes with a 6.53-inch display with a resolution of 1080×2340 and 6GB of RAM The TCL Plex runs Android 9 Pie and is powered by a 3,820mAh battery.
The limited release is part of TCL’s plan to gradually grow into the smartphone industry. TCL’s head of global communications and strategy Jason Gordon said: “We’re here for the long run and with the TCL Plex, we’re aiming to bring something different to the smartphone industry.”
The device is due to be released next week in Europe and will retail for €329.
