Huawei will bring the Mate 20 X 5G to the UK

All four major operators will range the 5G smartphone

Huawei has confirmed it will sell the Huawei Mate 20 X 5G in the UK.

It will cost £999, all four major operators have confirmed ranging of the Huawei device as has Sky Mobile, Mobile Phones Direct and A1.

Specs
The 7.2-inch Mate 20 X 5G is an upgraded version of the handset launched by Huawei in October packing similar specs to the standard Mate 20 X.

To connect to a 5G network the device has  Huawei’s own HiSilicon Balong 5G modem. It includes a smaller battery than the original Mate 20 X – 4,200mAh compared to 5,000mAh, but it supports 40W charging instead of 22.5W.

Other 5G handsets confirmed for UK release are the: Samsung Galaxy S10 5G, OnePlus 7 Pro 5G and the LG v50 ThinQ. Other 5G hardware includes the Huawei 5G CPE Pro 5G home router and the portable HTC 5G Hub.

Vodafone is aiming to switch on 5G on July 3. EE is expected to give an update next week after parent company BT said its consumer arm will launch 5G “imminently”. O2 is connecting four cities to 5G.
